River Bridge features a cottage-style design, with windows adorned with shutters and flower boxes. Each room is painted in soft colors, and the interior is furnished in bright colors of red, yellow and green. The Center also houses reception and a children's play area, exam and interview rooms and a bath and shower for victims to use when needed.
Programs and Services:The Childhelp® River Bridge Center offers an array of child abuse prevention and education programs for children, families, and professionals who work with children.The Childhelp® River Bridge Center provides opportunities for cross-agency consultation and continuing education for professionals in child abuse-related fields (available to community professionals, as well as the on-site staff.) Local Task Force Involves: • Garfield County (Department of Human Services and Sheriff's Office) • 9th Judicial Office of the District Attorney • Valleywide Forensic Nurses LLP
Intervention and Prevention:
The Childhelp® River Bridge Center utilizes a highly effective, one-stop approach to the investigation and treatment of child abuse. The child-friendly environment and team approach with law enforcement, medical and child protective services officials, increases efficiency while minimizing the trauma to the child. The state-of-the-art facility houses law enforcement, child protective services, medicine, mental health, and prosecution-all of whom work together as a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary team to reduce further trauma to the child while, at the same time, strengthening the investigative process. Specifically designed to drastically minimize the trauma of a child abuse investigation, River Bridge's child-friend décor reassures victims and non-offending family members and provides a sense of safety and security throughout the investigative process. Additionally, the Center's on-call system provides 24-hour emergency access to team members, allowing for after-hours service for crisis cases.

Wish List:Tax-deductible monetary donations, in-kind donations of new toys and other items suitable for children of all ages, as well as products and services are always needed. Every child who comes to the center gets to pick a toy to keep from the gift closet. For many of the children, this toy is often the only possession they have to call their own. Suggested children items include: • Sports balls • Games, electronic or board • Puzzles and books • Lip gloss and hair clips • Journals/scrapbooks • Hair clips and scrunchies • Art supplies • Personal compact disc players/radios • Dolls and accessories • Cars and similar toys • Non-violent computer games • Stuffed animals • Coloring books and crayons Other items include: • Office supplies/paper • Printing services • Stamps or metered postage for mailings • Paper products (towels, tissues, etc.) • New clothing (such as t-shirts, underwear, socks, sweat suits, etc.) • Tickets to movies, water parks, sporting events, etc. • Computer games • Nonviolent videos suitable for children age 12 and younger • Music, dance or craft lessons
